I like to BBQ, and drink beer. Sometimes the BBQ sauce gets on me, and being knowledgeable about all things cleaning related, I had to learn how to get these stains out of my clothes. The process for removing BBQ sauce is the same as for ketchup. Start by rinsing the spot on the garment in cool water from the inside of the garment. If you think about it flushing the stain from the inside of the garment pushes the stain away from the fabric. Your next step is to take a small amount of liquid laundry detergent, or laundry pre-treatment, and apply it to the stain. Use a soft brush, or the back of a spoon to tap the stain. Do not rub the stain because it will drive it deeper into the fabric. Tapping it loosens it so it can be flushed out of the garment. Rinse the stain again from the inside of the garment. Your next step is to apply some white vinegar to the stain, allow it to sit for a couple of minutes. Rinse one last time, and you should be finished. If there is any trace of the stain remaining it will be removed when you launder it.
